Fish and Chips (with Spicy Corns)




Ingredients for Fish:
  • Fish : 500 gm
  • Salt : half tsp
  • Chilli Powder : half tsp
  • Plain flour : 6 tbsp
  • Yellow Colour : one pinch
  • Black Pepper : 1 tsp
  • Carom Seeds : half tsp
  • Fresh Lemon Juice : 2 tbsp

Directions for Fish:
  • Put all the ingredients into a jug and whisk till it takes the form of paste. I normally use electric whisk to mix it.
  • Pat each fillet with dry plain flour and then coat it with the mixture/paste and then deep fry it.


Ingredients for Chips:
  • Potatoes : 4 large
  • Corn Flour : 1tbsp heaped
  • Salt : 2 pinch
  • Black Pepper : 2 pinch

Directions for Chips:
  • Peel, wash and cut potatoes in length-wise.
  • Rub them with corn flour, salt and pepper
  • Heat oil and deep fry them


Ingredients for Corns:
  • Fresh Lemon Juice : 1 tbsp
  • Frozen Corns : 1 cup
  • Salt : to taste
  • Black Pepper : half tsp
  • Butter : 1 tbsp (melted)

Directions for Corns:
  • Heat butter in a pan and add corns into it along with salt and pepper. Cover them on a low flame till they become soft.
  • Add lemon juice into it and stir for 2 minutes on a high flame. Ready to serve hot !
